Insights gives you the ability to view trends and activities over time within your company.  

On the right of the screen, you'll see a Trend line area that lets you specify which metrics you wish to look at.  To remove any selected metric, just click the x to the right of the metric name.

To add metrics, click the Add button and you'll be presented with this screen:

Fields on this screen:

  • Dimension: Gives the high level metric you want to track.  Note that you can select multiple metrics that have the same measurement type (e.g. you can select to see Ticket and Donation metrics on the same graph though not volunteering)
  • Filter: Basically, sub-metrics.  As an example, if you select Donated amount by company, the Filter will let you select Grants, Donation matching and so on
  • Metric: Allows you to view averages, actuals or cumulative totals
